14 type22 'broadsword' class frigates were built for the rn. They came in 3 batches (sub-class): broadsword (4)/boxer (6)/cornwall(4).all but 4 were paid off. Hm ships cumberland[f85]/campbeltown[f86]/chatham[f87] & cornwall[f99] still remain in commission.'bloodhound'renamed london[f95]/'bruiser'renamed sheffield[f96]and 'boadicea' became coventry[f98]. The latter two were renamed in honour of the two type42 destroyers and their crews, which were 'sunk in action' during the falkland conflict in 1982. Hope this data didn't bore you too much.
