Hi, I was on this ship (HMCS Mackenzie) in 1976. I was part of the crew, it was a training exercise threw Sea Cadets. We went to Hawaii from Vancouver and back, it was a three week trip. We took one week to get there, one week docked in Pearl harbour, then one week back. It was a hell of experience, I will never forget it. While we were at sea, we had the chance to be part of everyday duties. I was 16 years old when this all happened, I thank the Burns Lake B.C. Sea Cadets for the opportunity of a lifetime.
Hi Lawrence good to hear from you. Half my Apprentice term were in Mac and our half in Fraser on this cruise, Great Experience. Cheers K.Watson 54719.

I served from 1982 to 1985 aboard the mighty Mac. Radar Plotter. Great ship and crew, enjoyed my experience. Made all 3 cruises - south america, south pacific and far east. Will never forget her!
Wow! incredible memories are all coming back looking thru the Fraser days. I served On Jetex64 Sailor Hat, 2 Kahoolawe Blasts and took her through the Canal to Montreal for the Helicopter decks to be put on. Exciting time going past Cuba and chasing subs. My Far East experience was by far the most outstanding in my life. I would appreciate pics if anyone has them of this time as I took very few. Especially xing the line and those hard tack biscuits.
