Image of Tug Schelde seen here from Tasman Zee

The tug Schelde is clearly seen here behind the tug Tasman Zee. This picture I've made in 1964. This was off the coast of Aden.

what's happening is the Tasman Zee towing the Schelde. The Schelde engine appears to be working, and the chap on the starboard quarter looks about to be knocked over with the tow-rope.good picture funny situation.JB

In fact we were taking over a tow from the Schelde.
No fear for the chap on the left, the tow-rope was blocked by a device (don't know the English word) like you see on the right. In fact the chap is still my friend.

When I look closer I can see the shackle of the stop rope, as we used to call it.Thank you.JB

I sailed on both these tugs when they were the 'Afon Goch' (ex Schelde) and Afon Wen (ex Tasman Zee). Beautiful ships.
