Seatruck Ferries' 1977 built,6, ferry RIVERDANCE reg. Hamilton,is seen here aground on the beach at Cleveleys just north of Blackpool on the Lancashire coast of nw England on Feb 12th,2008.She was heading for Heysham from Warrenpoint in Northern Ireland on the night of Feb 1st.It was a night of fierce storms in the Irish Sea and Riverdance was hit by a freak wave. All the crew and four passengers were safely winched off the vessel.She was deemed a total loss and has been cut up on site but the starboard side of the hull has sunk some ten metres into the sand since this photo was taken and has to be excavated during every low tide.
