Tanker ss. Batillus

Shell Tanker ss.Batillus, Imo 7360095, 553.662 ton, in 1976 delivered by Chantiers de L'Atlantic St. Nazaire (buildingnumber V25) for Societe Maritime Shell France.
In 1985 demolished at Kaohsiung Taiwan.

Built in '76 and demolished in '85.. that only leaves a useful life of about 10 years. That isn't much...

batillus, bellamya, prairial and pierre guillemot four sister ships, remain the largest ships ever built. contrary to popular belief the jahre viking was not the biggest, as she had been jumboised

The smaller tanker alongside is the DRUPA

Tranferring crude oil on S/S Drupa in Lime Bay, before joining Antifer (France). Could be on the of 1976 or the beginning of 1977. The hull painting was still new.
