One of two pictures to be found at my home, picture taken in 1960 at Southampton.


Editor: RMS Queen Elizabeth was built by John Brown & Company shipyard at Clydebank, Scotland. She was launched on September 27 1938 and retired in 1968. She sailed for the famous Cunard Line (Cunard Steamship Company).

I think that the picture is realy good. Queen elizabeth is really Fascinating.

I sailed on her as a troop ship from Gourock to New YORK ON 7th.DECEMBER 1943 FOR RAF TRAINING IN CANADA.U-Boats were waiting for us,but we were faster than them.My duty was on watertight doors.

The original Queen Elizabeth didn't the number One as a suffix , by I know what you mean.
