Cargo ship Santa Adela in Port of Spain 1969

Photo of USA registered cargo vessel Santa Adela quayside in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobego in 1969.
The cargo ship Santa Adela was built as the Santa Margarita in 1942 at Kearny for Grace Line Inc, New York. The Santa Margarita was renamed in 1946 to Alboni and in 1947 to Santa Adela. She was disposed of in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 1970.

I am currently writing a "biography" of this ship. I am using the documentary record and personal accounts of her crews and passengers. I am attempting to use her history as a lens through which to view the role of the merchant marine in the WII and postwar eras.

I am looking to interview/correspond with former crew members and passengers as well as Naval Armed Guard members who may have served on board. I am also looking for personal accounts, diaries and other photos pertaining to the ship, either during or after the war.

My father is Captain George Koch who could probably tell you a lot about this ship since he sailed her as captain for quite some time. Email me if you are still writing this biography and perhaps my dad will be able to give you some information. I decided today to just look up the ship and see what was on the internet about her because it is a huge part of my dad's career. Hope you are still writing this :)
Thank you
