King Abdelaziz at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Photo of the King Abdelaziz seen at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia 1969. The King Abdelaziz was built in 1922 as Missourian. Miramar has her registered as a dedicated cargo ship but to me she looks more like a passenger vessel...
The Missourian was renamed in 1940 to Empire Swan, in 1942 to Belgian Freighter, in 1946 to Capitaine Potie, in 1948 to Genova, in 1955 to Flaminia and in 1964 to King Abdelaziz. She was scrapped in 1970 at Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

With thanks and © P.W. Hobday.

The ship was in fact built as a cargo ship. A first rebuilding to emigrant carrier was in 1948/49. In 1955 totally rebuilt and dieselized.
