Färdig - lifting barge in the Maritime Museum

Photographed while passing the Gothenburg Maritime Museum on 1 June 2008.
This lifting barge was built in 1942 in England. It was used to raise sunken ships and remove wrecks. It was bought in 1959 by the Swedish tug and towing company Röda Bolaget. The large winch permitted Färdig (which means "finished") to lift 300 tons over the bow.
