Älvsnabben 3 at Lindholmen, Gothenburg
Another of the Ferries linking the two parts of Gothenburg separated by the Göta Älv river, photographed on 7 March 2008. See also picture #3598, picture #3603 and picture #3721.
Built in 1975 at Djupviks Varv, orginally named "Ejdern" and put into service in Gothenburg's southern archipelago. In 1993 the hull was widened, a new interior fitted and the boat was given a new wheelhouse. In 1994 the name was changed to "Älvsnabben 3" and it started to operate in the Göta Älv. Length: 27.24 m, beam 6.92 m and maximum draught 1.93 m. Maximum 300 passengers, with 144 seats in the salon. Powered since 1995 by two 760 hp Volvo Penta TAMD122 engines driving fixed propellers. The service speed is 12.5 knots but limited on the Göta Älv to 11 knots.
