The boat next ot the Endeavour is the Lowestoft built “Defender”. She was previously known as “Al Majihad” and served as a Sultan of Oman Navy fast attack boat.

Marcel, I think she is now at Norwich. Might be a Sea Cadet Training vessel.

Cheers, RDG

I understand that that defender has been purchased privately and possibility it may be brought into use as pleasurecraft Its berthed close to the main Heybridge Lock When I was down there recently the gangway is blocked off by padlock but there were 10 - 15 people picniking on the front deck. Reference to site should give you more information I suspect landlord of main village pub Jolly may know who purchaser is! Hope this is helpful

I run Seylec and I have a few bits of info and links at
The new private owners are turning her into a pleasure craft but keeping her military appeal. She is part way through the refurb and currently efforts are being made to get a new power system up and running.
A lot of the old comms and control equipment is being removed, if their are any collectors interested please contact me and I will forward your details to the owners.

How is progress going on getting Defender out on the water.
Is HMS Plymouth due to arrive at the Heybridge Basin?

She was built at Brooke Marine in 1972. I was part of a trials team from the National Physical Laboratory.

We installed instrumentation at Lowestoft and then carried out measured-mile runs off of the Northumberland coast.
