Cunard's QE2 outbound from Halifax on 1st October 2007. This may well be her last visit to Sam Cunard's hometown as she is sadly to be sold to become a bauble in a sandbank somewhere East of Suez. Capnken photo.

There seems to be a whole lot of short-sightedness regarding preserving 'Iconic' LINERS inside the UK (there isn't one!!) P&O; even let the SS Canberra go to the cutters' torch. Both these fine liners had served their country in War and Peace. The 'Big Bucks' count I suppose. I would have nominated Glasgow for her retirement.
