USS Wasp secured at HMC Dockyard, Halifax, Nova Scotia on 22nd June 2007. The Wasp Class vessels are the largest amphibious assault ships in the world todate at 41,150 tons. LOA 844 ft., beam 106 ft., draught 32 ft. Propulsion two geared steam turbines 70,000 SHP, 22 knots. Crew 1,208. Troops 1,900. Aircraft: Helos, Harriers and Ospreys as reqd.
