Somali cargo ship 'Asmari' of 1951
Mogadishu-registered general cargo ship "Asmari" (4,896 tons gross, built by Werf de Noord, Alblasserdam), owned by Sun Cheong Steam Navigation Co. of Hong Kong, arriving at Kuwait in July 1972. She was built in 1951 as "Toroa" for Cie. de Transported Océaniques of France, being temporarily renamed "Black Toroa" between 1952 & 1956. She was sold (to ?) in 1959, being renamed "Sabrina", and sold again 1963 to Cie. Asiatique de Nav. S.A., renamed "Asmari" & registered in Djibouti. She was bought by Sun Cheong in 1971, retaining name but placed under the Somali flag.
