British cargo ship 'Wenduyne' of 1963

West Hartlepool-registered general cargo ship "Wenduyne" (7,289 tons gross, built by Wm. Doxford & Sons, Sunderland), owned by Wenduyne Shipping Co. Ltd. of Gibraltar, at Khorramshahr, Iran, in April 1972. She was completed in February 1963 as "Apsleyhall" for West Hartlepool S.N. Co. She was bought by Wenduyne in 1969, being renamed but retaining Hartlepool registry. She was sold mid-1973 to Standard Bulk Transport Corp. of Greece (George A. Gratsos) & renamed "Angelina" and early the following year changed ownership to Marvel Shipping Co. of Piraeus without change of name. After springing a leak in the South Atlantic on 4th June 1974 she anchored near Montevideo, only to then catch fire in the accommodation; she was quickly abandoned & sank on 7th June.
