British Naval stores ship 'Bacchus' (A404) of 1962

Stores ship "Bacchus" (4,823 tons gross, built 1962 by Henry Robb Ltd., Leith) at Dubai in December 1971. She was owned by the British India Steam Nav. Co. (P&O; from 1973) & bareboat chartered to the Admiralty. She was managed throughout her life by the R.F.A. & the only indication of her real ownership was the B.I. crest on her bows(painted over in this photo). In 1981 she was sold to Lion Shipping Co. (Pte.) Ltd., Singapore (managers: Lian Soon Agencies) & renamed "Cherry Lanka", and was sold for scrap at the end of 1985 to Goodluck Corporation, Gadani Beach, Pakistan
