BOHUSLAN (IMO 5047481)

Swedish passenger vessel taken in July 1978. Not too sure of location. She was built at Gothenburg in 1913 by Eriksberg and is still around as far as I am aware giving excursions.
Photo taken by the late Jim Orr and now in my collection.

I don't recognise the location, and I would if it was Gothenburg. Most likely somewhere else on the west coast of Sweden. Several pictures of this vessel are on the Librapix 'Your Boat' web site. The following is taken from picture no. 2242 on that site (written by me):
Length: 43.1 m, Beam: 7.3 m, Draught: 2.7 m, GRT: 235.
Triple-expansion steam engine 700 indicated horsepower, Scotch boiler, oil-fired.
She was built in 1914 by Eriksbergs Mekaniska Verkstad for Marstrands Nya Ångfartygs AB, and for over 40 years was in service on the route Göteborg-Lysekil-Smögen-Gravarne (now Kungshamn). Bus and traffic on vehicle ferries gradually took over this island traffic, and she was laid up in the autumn of 1963, and sold for scrap 2 years later. A group of enthusiasts set up the Sällskapet Ångbåten (Steamship Association) in 1965 and rescued her from the scrapman. As far as possible she has been restored to the way she was on delivery in May 1914.
