'Amusement World' at Penang

New Century Cruise Lines' gambling cruise ship "Amusement World" (12,764 tons gross) built 1967 by A/B Lindholmens Varv, Gothenburg) departing from Penang, Malysia, for an overnight cruise in the afternoon of 1st February 2013. She started life as Swedish Lloyd's passenger/car ferry "Patricia"; from 1978 she was owned by Stena Line & several subsidiaries, under several names, before being bought by New Century in 1998. On 28th September 2012 she & her sister “Leisure World” became the first 2 ships to be registered with the newly-formed Palau International Ship Registry.
