Ships and Harbours Photos

My father worked for this company for 32 years, on this ship for many of them, I remember taking trips on her as a young boy. I later worked for the company for 13 years.

I worked on the Newfoundland / Nova Scotia routes Mostly on the Smallwood. Also worked on the Erickson, Caribou, and Atlantic Freighter.

My father worked with C.N. for some 37 years and spent many years on the Shea. Where can I find a pic of her now?

Nice pic of the shea, My dad was with marine Atlantic for 40 years, he is enjoying his retirement now. I her him say alote that is misses the comradely of the guys. My father was chief cook John Laite. I grew up on the shea, I guess I caught the water bug also. I have worked for 10 years on the semi submersed oil platforms as a 2nd engineer, great money if you can stay away for 6 months or more.
I am 42 and retired with full pension now. and I am missing the sea also.

My dad Leonard Cumby worked on the Shea as an oiler for many years. He has been retired for several now. He still misses the sea. As a child I once did the Gulf run with my dad and was realy marveled how much he understood about this vessel. He still talks of her as if he was boarding the ferry this minute

I was privileged to meet and know Captain Michael Talbot, Master of MV Abrose Shea, but a brief while shortly before this gentleman retired to his lovely garden on Cape Breton.

Yes!,
It may have sunk years ago after she was sold over seas, but to the old guys like my father whos 80 he talks abote her and every other boat he worked on for years.

My father was skipper of the MV Ambrose Shea in the early to mid 70's when he retired.
