AMT Trader

AMT Trader is reputed to be the second largest ocean-going barge in the world. It is a massive 12,727grt and built by Ag Weser in Bremen Germany in 1978. Here it sits alongside Fergusons Shipyard in Port Glasgow on October 1st 2012 being prepared for the huge task of taking the giant 11,500 ton LB04 section of the future HMS Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier from BAE Systems Surface Ships yard in Govan Glasgow round the top of Scotland via the Pentland Firth to Rosyth on the Firth of Forth where the two carriers will be assembled.
