What a great shot of my namesake ex Sun Viking! She was my first (and still favorite) cruise ship in 1973. Is she still sailing?

My parents sailed on the Sun Viking in 1977, I was just looking at pictures of it in their album. Sure was luxurious in its day.

The Omar III (ex Sun Viking) is the only non converted/ lengthened of the 3 (former) sisters of R.C.C.L. the 2 others: Nordic Prince & Song of Norway were converted and lengthened during the 1978/80ties.
The N.Prince, ex Carousel/Arielle/ sails as Aquamarine for Louis C.L. The S.of Norway, ex Sundream, Dream Princess, Dream, sails as Clipper Pacific for I.S.P. of Miami in charter to various operators.
The Omar III is also sporting the famousS candinavian Crown- bar around the stag/funnel. RCCL dismantled them prior the sale of the S of Noway & N.Prince..

I had the pleasure of working on this beautiful ship from January 1995 to July 1995. I had a wonderful experience while working in the dinning room. I met some wonderful people while sailing the caribbean waters and Alaska.
