HMCS Sioux DDE 225 at Halifax May 1960.

HMCS Sioux (ex Vixen) of 'V' Class fleet destroyers, built White 1943, to RCN 1944. Served WW2 and Korea. Sister Algonquin received full conversion treatment to A/S DDE in late 50's. Sioux remained essentially as shown until decommissioned. Displmt 2,530 tons full load; LOA363 ft; beam 35.75 ft; draught 10 ft. Geared turbines: 40,000SHP - 36.75 knots. Note squid mounts aft in place of X mounting.

is there any way I can get a photo for my dad's 70th. he served in this ship from 62-64.

Sailed in her from January 1956 until being drafted off to commission Skeena in March of 1957. Sioux was probably the best ship I ever served in.
