At 43000grt she is a very scaled down version of a mega floating city originally envisaged which would have put the likes of QM2 firmly into the small bracket.
THE WORLD's hull and upperworks were built by Bruces Yard at Landskrona in Sweden but completed by another yard whose name I do not know being delivered in 2002.
I believe she is the largest passenger ship to dock within the boundaries of the former Leith Docks changed out of all recognition over the years as so many dock areas were.
