Glenlee was built in 1896 by Anderson Rodger at Port Glasgow for the Glen arm of Archibald Sterling & Co. Ltd.
After a few sales, she became the Spanish training ship GALATEA in 1922 which role she undertook till about 1969 when she was laid up. She lay rotting till 1993 when bought by the Clyde Maritime Trust and eventually brought back to the Clyde berthed in Glasgow where a remarkable restoration project was undertaken, the results of which can be well seen in Richard's photo.
