HACKNEY

Electricity collier taken from HMS BELFAST in November 1971 making her way downriver from one of the London power stations.
A flatiron she was built by SP Austin at Sunderland in 1952.
This was her last year as in 1972 she was sold and renamed BULK I and converted into a barge for use at Gothenburg. She even could still be there.

Hello Paul, I live in Gothenburg but haven't seen any barge or hulk looking as if it was this collier or its hull.

Thanks Peter, a mystery then to her fate. I remember two former colliers at Burntisland which were used when the bauxite ships anchored off. They were BULKHANDLING 1 and 2.

I've recently seen photos of her as BULK I but not sure where they were taken.
