HMS Eagle sheet anchor

Photographed on 15 September 2005 at the gates of RNAS Yeovilton, this is the sheet anchor of the HMS Eagle, an aircraft carrier which served from 31 October 1951 to 26 January 1972. She was the successor of the HMS Eagle on which my father served before and during WW2, and was sunk by 4 torpedos in the Mediterranean during Operation Pedestal, the relief of Malta.
