HM 'Oberon' Class Submarine at Halifax, NS 1985

Visiting Royal Navy 'O'Class submarine at Naval Review held in Bedford Basin, Halifax, Nova Scotia in summer 1985. This is believed to be Olympus, can anyone verify this? If so, she is here yet, bought by Canada in 1989 and used as static trainer. Now for disposal.

If this was at the review in 1985, then it must have been HMS Sealion, I was there and have a souvenir chart of Bedford Basin overprinted with the Ships in the Review and Sealion is the only British Submarine shown. So not an 'O' Boat, but a Porpoise Class.

At that time and certainly to my knowledge up into the 90s the British & Canadian Navies had continuing exchanges between submarines services, with normally an RN submarine attached to the Canadians and vice versa. My recollection was that Sealion at the time of the review was on attachment for several months to the Canadian Navy.

Sealion was sold by the RN in 1987 and scrapped in 1990.
