HMC Ships Cayuga, 218; Nootka, 213; Athabaskan 219 and Micmac 214 at HMC Dockyard, in background is Halifax Shipyards where all four of these ships were built. Displacement 2,800 tons full load; LOA 377 ft; beam 37.5 ft; draught 15ft. Modified to DDE 1950's with reduced gun armament and upgraded ASW fit. Machinery: geared turbines, 44,000SHP, speed 36.5 knots. Crew 240.

The Tribals look they are being pulled from service here - as the DDHs' coming on line?

BTW that must be the ex-RCN ice-breaker 'Labrador' stern-to, at the floating dry-dock. Helicopter deck, stern-notch and lattice-mast - in the black hull and white upper-works of Canadian Marine Service (1963 became Candian Coast Guard) of Dept. of Transport.
