Gazprom
has been heavily promoting in the international news in recent years. In our home world the aim is mostly about Hydro and Statoil would like to be invited into the fire when it comes to development of the Shtokman field.

But internationally, the company has been in the media more because the enormous power it has when it comes to gas supply to other countries, including Europe.

It all culminated a few months ago in connection with the new gas prices to include Ukraine, which led to the temporary stopping of gas deliveries, and great concern across Europe, since a large part of the flow went through just Ukraine.

It is believed that Gazprom accounts for approx. 20% of Europe's gas imports. The company also plans to increase its influence by means of a huge new gas pipeline under the Baltic Sea and a newly opened pipeline south to Turkey.

VLADISLAV STRIZHOV
Named after the Russian scientist with the same port, and it was his daughter Tatiana who was godmother. The first mission is naturally associated with the oil and gas fields outside Arkhangelsk.

The vessel's operating characteristics is said that she can turn 180 degrees in three minutes in 90 cm thick ice and can work in temperatures down to minus 50 ¡C. Then it is obvious that the ship's steel weight is greater than what is normal for this size vessels, - light weight is the entire 5,800 tons, while the deadweight is "only" 3,800 tons.

The vessel have imo:9310018, and was seen approaching Bergen for Naming Ceremony, April 14. 2006
