Ships and Harbours
No: 14526   Contributor: Paul Strathdee   Year: 1978   Manufacturer: Scotts' Shipbuilding, Greenock, United Kingdom   Country: United Kingdom

Australian Oberon Class submarine on trials at Greenock in 1978. She was built by Scotts' and her career lasted until 2000 when she was decommissioned and was to become a tourist attraction in Australia.
However this fell through and she had the dubious honour of being offered for sale on EBay. I don't know what the eventual outcome for her has been.
The tug just getting into the picture is Clyde Shipping's FLYING FULMAR built by Ryton Marine on Tyneside in 1974 and now sailing as ALICE NERO having been sold in 1992.
