SOLENShell Tankers' SOLEN laid up on the Clyde in Kames Bay on the Isle of Bute in 1975. One of a series of three attractive ships built for Shell UK she was completed by Swan Hunter at Wallsend in 1961. There were similar French registered ships also.
Originally they had green hulls with white upperworks and yellow funnels but changed later to the colours seen here.
She lasted till 1982 when she was broken up at Kaohsiung. Sisters were SEPIA and SERENIA.
