FORT GEORGE building

One of the two big replenishment ships for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary under construction at the Swan Hunter yard at Wallsend in January 1991.
Named after the Georgian fort and barracks north of Inverness, she was launched in the March and completed in 1993 joining her Belfast built sister FORT VICTORIA.
Both ships are still very much a part of the RFA.
