MATAURA on Maiden Voyage

New Zealand Shipping Co's cargo liner at Glasgow in August 1968 loading on her maiden voyage.
She was built by the Mitsui yard at Tanamo in Japan. In 1977 she was renamed WILD MALLARD under P&O; and later sold on becoming MACEDONIAN REEFER.
She went to breakers as CORRADO I in 1998.
A sister MANAPOURI was completed at the same yard.
