HMS Worcester

This is a view taken from Ingris Abbey showing the Nautical Training College HMS Worcester at Greenhithe Kent. This was taken on 8th October 1977 & she was later towed away for scrapping in Belgium, I was on her 1969-69 before joining Houlder Brothers,. She was the third HMS Worcester ( ex HMS Exmouth)

I would have liked to see her scrapped!

It's a pity that the old ship couldn't have been saved from the scrap mans torch. I am sure that a buddy business man(or consortium of)could have bought her for a minimum and turned her into a floating hotel / leisure centre. But the scrap man won!!.Pity
