I was member of the FGS Rheinland-Pfalz in 1985. Me and some friends talk so many times about that good times. Especially the time during our visit in Halifax. Now, we want to say something we couldn`t say when we left Canada:
Thank you for all the good thing we got from the canadian people. We will never forget the helpfully and friendly guys. It was the best stay in foreign countries we ever had. And believe me, we`ve seen a lot of foreign countries.
Is there anyone who remembers about the automobile on our anchor ? It could be viewed in TV .

Hi Torsten: Very interesting to hear from you, I well recall the anchor incident with the old auto. When I was a lad I remember seeing old cars (they were all black then) on the Basin ice in the early 50's.Some must have been abandoned and melted through. Not cold enough now for any appreciable ice to form.
Glad you enjoyed your visit to Halifax. All best wishes from an old Navy lad. Cheers, Ken
